Ratamo libraries

Ratamo libraries were founded as a group of four libraries situated in Uudenmaa and Kanta-Häme in 2003. At the time the group consisted of Hausjärvi, Hyvinkää Nurmijärvi, and Riihimäki Libraries.

At the time of the founding, a shared library system PallasPro was introduced. The library system was updated to AuroraSilver in 2017. Ratamo Libraries expanded in 2020 with the addition of Loppi library.

The name Ratamo originates from the words railway tracks (rata in Finnish) and motorway. The group's founding member municipalities are situated along a motorway and railway tracks run through the municipalities.

Ratamo libraries consist of eight library buildings and three mobile libraries. Patrons of Ratamo libraries can use their library card to borrow and reserve materials from all the Ratamo libraries, as well as return their loans to any of the libraries.

In addition to the member libraries, the book collection of the Hyvinkää Art Museum and the materials of the Finnish Glass Museum's library are displayed as part of the Ratamo libraries' database.
